SEGRÈ, CORRADO
SEGRÈ, CORRADO (1863–1924), Italian mathematician. Segrè was appointed professor of geometry at Turin in 1888. He was awarded the mathematical prize of the University of Turin in 1883 and shared the Royal Prize of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei with Volterra in 1898. Segrè's main work was in the projective geometry of higher dimensions and in projective differential geometry. He contributed the definitive article "Mehrdimensionale Raeume" to the Encyklopaedie der mathematischen Wissenschaften (vol. 3 (1912), 769–972). -BIBLIOGRAPHY: Baker, in: London Mathematical Society Journal, 1 (1926), 263; Loria, in: Annali di matematica pura ed applicata, 2 (1924–25).
